An experiment was conducted on the effect of edible coating shelf-life enhancement papaya (Carica L.) at ambient conditions. The main aim this study to increase shelf life by using coating. Postharvest losses in fruits is a serious problem due rapid deterioration during storage. Use coatings over used improve their quality and enhance life. purpose assess aloe vera gel, beeswax, paraffin wax gelatine extending including physico-chemical changes under storage laid out completely randomized design (CRD) with 7 treatments 3 replications. treatment consisted material Aloe gel 0.5% (T1), 1%(T2), 1.5%(T3), Beeswax 6% (T4), Paraffin 100% (T5), Gelatin10%(T6), Control(T7) freshly harvested fruits. Statistical analysis revealed that among all treatments, maximum delaying ripening recorded coated Therefore, can be suggested as post-harvest shelf-life.
